Kitchens

NB.this site is an ARCHIVE of my work – furniture/kitchens etc. are ONLY available as
part of a Tiny House through my current business Tiny House Scotland.

Kitchens by Jonathan Avery.  After the initial couple of years sending my small cupboard range all over the UK by mail order, a few customer requests for larger pieces gave birth to my Unfitted Kitchen range in about 1996….no flat pack kitchens here – just fully built and painted old fashioned individual items to perform the essential kitchen functions; classic dressers, belfast sink units, larder cupboards and islands.

Designed with my inherent sense of proportion and inspired by such influences as the Arts & Crafts movement and the beautiful functional utilitarianism of Shaker furniture with their emphasis on efficient storage.  The other essential ingredient being colour, again from my love of colonial Shaker, Amish and Mennonite ‘s use of subtle, sometimes drab tones – the shades I developed became so popular that we eventually produced  them as a range of paints.  Over the next 15 years we sent thousands of individual furniture pieces and scores of complete unfitted kitchens all over the UK from Cornwall to Orkney and to France too.  Many kitchens in Scotland were personally installed by myself and my team as a part of the service offered by our Edinburgh and Glasgow showrooms.
